Safeguarding
At St Chad's RC Parish Church we believe that every human being has a value and dignity which we as Catholics acknowledge as coming directly from God's creation of male and female in his own image and likeness. We have a duty to value all people and therefore to support them and protect them from harm.
Our Responsibilites
We have rigorous procedures and codes of practice in place, which include:
- Procedures to respond to and report concerns about any form of abuse or maltreatment of a vulnerable adult
- Codes of safe practice
- Safer recruitment procedures
We adopt the principles contained in No Secrets (DoH 2000) and Safeguarding Adults: A National Framework for Good Practice (ADSS 2005) following the guidelines issued by the Archdiocese of Liverpool, acknowledging that the Catholic Church in England and Wales must not act alone but in partnership with all other agencies to combat the abuse of vulnerable adults.
Our designated Safeguarding representative is Hilary Lunn who can be contacted if you have any questions about Safeguarding, would like to volunteer to work within our Parish with our vulnerable adults or young people or would like to report any concerns. Hilary can be contacted on mob. no 07931546139 or by email: h-lunn@sky.com
